Shah Rukh Khan upcoming 2026 action thriller ‘King’ has hit a temporary pause after the superstar reportedly sustained an injury during an intense shoot sequence in Mumbai. The Siddharth Anand directorial, which began filming in May, has had fans eagerly tracking every development. However, the latest update may come as a brief setback for SRK admirers.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, Shah Rukh Khan was shooting a high-octane action scene at the Golden Tobacco Studio in Mumbai when the incident occurred. While the exact nature of the injury remains confidential, insiders reveal that the actor suffered what appears to be a muscular injury — not serious, but significant enough to require immediate attention.

Following the incident, Khan has reportedly flown to the United States for medical treatment. A source close to the production confirmed, “It is more of a muscular injury and nothing serious. That being said, it is not being taken lightly. Shah Rukh has been advised to take a one-month rest.”
The injury understandably caused concern among the film’s crew, but sources reassure that SRK is “on the mend” and there’s no major cause for worry. As a result of his condition, the film’s shooting schedule planned for July and August has been officially cancelled.
The production team now aims to resume filming after September, once Shah Rukh is fully recovered. “He has been asked to get back to the set with caution,” added the insider.
‘King’ is shaping up to be one of SRK’s most action-heavy films yet, and with Siddharth Anand at the helm — known for blockbusters like Pathaan and War — expectations are sky-high. While the delay may be disappointing for fans, all eyes are now on Khan’s recovery and the project’s re-launch later this year.
