The wait is finally over! Apple is all set to host its much-awaited “Awe-dropping” event tonight, and the spotlight is firmly on the upcoming iPhone 17 series. This year, Apple is expected to introduce four models — the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the brand-new ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air.
One of the most exciting revelations ahead of the launch is the iPhone 17 Pro Max battery upgrade. As per the latest leaks from Chinese regulatory filings, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a massive 5088mAh battery – the largest ever on an iPhone. This is a significant jump from the 4685mAh battery in the iPhone 16 Pro Max and should translate into noticeably longer battery life.
Moreover, the iPhone 17 Pro is also getting a huge boost with a 4252mAh battery, up from 3582mAh, making it a significant upgrade over its predecessor. Even the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air models will see bigger batteries, expected to pack 3692mAh and 3149mAh cells, respectively.

Battery life is not the only upgrade this year. Apple is giving the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro a refreshed design with a sleek horizontal camera bar, a brighter 120Hz ProMotion display, and its powerful new A19 chip, delivering faster performance and efficiency. In addition, the Pro models will introduce 8× telephoto zoom, 8K video recording, and an Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip, ensuring blazing-fast connectivity.
Meanwhile, Apple’s pricing is likely to remain consistent, with the base iPhone 17 starting around $799 (₹79,900 in India approx.). However, the Pro and Pro Max could see slightly higher prices due to increased storage and upgraded features.
Apple will open pre-orders on September 12 and start deliveries on September 19. With major design changes, powerful hardware, and bigger batteries across the lineup, the iPhone 17 series might just be one of Apple’s biggest upgrades in years.
