Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has proposed to his longtime partner Georgina Rodríguez, and the dazzling ring says it all. After more than eight years together, the couple is officially engaged, with Georgina confirming the news on Instagram on August 11. Sharing a close-up photo of her hand resting on Ronaldo’s, she revealed a massive 50-carat oval-shaped diamond worth an estimated $3 million. Her caption, translated from Spanish, read: “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.”
Ronaldo, 40, and Georgina, 31, first went public with their relationship in January 2017 after meeting at a Gucci store in Madrid, where she worked as a sales assistant. Georgina has often reminisced about those early days, including the moment Ronaldo picked her up from work in a Bugatti, leaving her coworkers stunned.

Over the years, the pair have built a beautiful blended family, raising five children together — twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 8, daughters Alana, 7, and Bella, 3, along with Cristiano’s eldest son, Cristiano Jr., 15. The family also endured heartbreak in April 2022 when they announced the death of Bella’s twin brother, Ángel, shortly after birth.
Despite Ronaldo’s global fame and record-breaking career, the couple has often kept much of their personal life private. However, in Georgina’s 2022 Netflix documentary I Am Georgina, Ronaldo admitted he knew early on that she was “the woman of my life.”
The engagement marks a new chapter for the couple, whose relationship has been defined by mutual support, glamour, and resilience. While Cristiano Ronaldo has yet to make an official public statement, Georgina’s post has already gone viral, sending fans into a frenzy over what could be one of the most high-profile weddings in the sports world.
