Bengaluru-based fast fashion startup Blip has officially shut down.
In a heartfelt LinkedIn post, co-founder Ansh Agarwal shared that the team had to make the difficult decision to shut operations due to limited working capital and go-to-market delays.
Blip aimed to revolutionize India’s fashion retail experience—offering 30-minute doorstep delivery of trendy apparel and accessories. In a market where speed is king and instant gratification is no longer a luxury but an expectation, Blip was trying to be India’s “Zara meets Zepto.”
Founded with a bold ambition, Blip targeted Gen Z and urban millennials who want style delivered at the speed of a grocery app.
Think: You scroll Instagram, see an outfit you like, and it’s on your doorstep before your makeup sets.
Blip’s vision was to deliver fast as for a generation used to Swiggy and Blinkit, the model made sense on paper.
And for a while, it worked. Blip created buzz, sparked curiosity, and even managed to carve a loyal niche audience in Bengaluru.
‘We are shutting down Blip after building for over a year. We have finally called it a day. While we continue to believe in this space, bootstrapping the business with limited capital made it extremely difficult for us to participate in the market’-Ansh Agarwal (Co- Founder of Blip)
The Blip model, being different from the rest, did a lot of first-in-market implementations that took its own time to convince stakeholders. It affected a go-to-market strategy and ‘slowed things considerably down for us’, he said.
